When things go wrong so you appreciate them when they're right, you believe lies so you eventually learn to trust no one but yourself, and sometimes good things fall apart so better things can fall together. Be yourself don't pretend to be who you're not cause in the end you'll be the one who gets hurt. I'm a honest person, it doesnt make me stuck up and it doesn't mean i 'hate' you.. at the end of the day when you ask a question you're asking for the truth. I'm a civil person. People take advantage of it and think they can walk all over me. I've made a lot of mistakes but I'm HUMAN so don't expect more out of me. Creativity is my outlet. Same-sex couple should be able to get married-Obama

President Obama,

You did a wonderful and courageous thing today. I didn’t expect you to say this publicly until after your reelection. This was a risk, but I believe in the end it will pay off for you in a big way. Good for you!

For those touting the bible and suggesting that the president is being selfish because he referenced “his bible and his faith” while there are 300 million others in this country.. to you I say this: This country is founded in freedom OF Religion as well as freedom FROM religion. The selfish thing here is to force one particular religion’s anti-gay sentiments on the rest of the population. The truly humanitarian (and patriotic) thing to do is recognize that in this nation we are free to believe and live as we see fit and that whom one person chooses to marry does not affect you in your daily life in any way (unless you are the one getting married). If you don’t like the idea of same sex marriage, I promise you that noone will ever force you to marry someone of the same sex. But who are you to dictate who anyone else marries? As long as they are of legal age and both consenting, then it should be of no concern to you. Let’s put this out of the way, make it legal on a federal level and get back to focusing on issues that do affect each of us, namely jobs and our economy (education, infrastructure, environment, etc).

While everyone is throwing around the bible, I could have sworn that Religion and Government are not supposed to collide. This is about HUMAN RIGHTS! Gay people are HUMAN. They should be able to choose their mate and have the same rights to get married because they love the same and no matter if your like it or not are created by the same energy that created the world. Besides for all the bible thumpers I could have swore no one can judge but GOD! Therefore instead of worrying about the so called sins of gay people you need to be looking in the mirror at your judgmental sinful self. Doesnt the bible say He without sin throw the first stone?

I’m proud of the president Obama for standing up and saying it out loud. Now I look forward to January when he begins to formally push for national legislation on the subject so we can put this to rest once and for all.

Thank you for standing on the side of justice, not only for supporting LGBTQ rights, but also for sharing your ambivalence honestly, educating yourself, and keeping your heart and mind open. You’re setting an incredible example of social and personal progress.
